A Scottish Walk

After morning rain, the afternoon was a damp one.  We decided on Cooriedog walk 2 for an afternoon stroll.  It all looked promising with no cars in the parking area.  The hill to ourselves, we thought.

The first part of the walk took us through dense conifer woodland where we instantly found we were not alone.  We were joined by all sorts of small flying creatures.  They insisted on flying in cloud formation at head height just behind us.  It has the effect of quickening our pace.  As if we could get ahead of them.  As if.

They never really went away when we entered more open country.  They came back with the full regiment as I set up a composition with a thistle and a couple of fuzzy figures behind.  So its the flies fault.
