Dirty Three @ Primavera Sound, Porto

Having seen Australia's Dirty Three many times, but not since 2005, I was anticipating a great set from them at Primavera Sound in Porto. It was great, but far too brief - for a band whose instrumentals often run to more than 10 minutes, a one-hour set was always going to be WAY too short. Note to self - next time see them in a club, not at an outdoor festival.
Violinist Warren Ellis (also of the Bad Seeds/Grinderman) was in fine festival form, but some sound problems meant he had to switch to piano for the last song, only briefly getting to return to electric violin before taking a bow and leaving the stage. The first time I've seen them out of more than 30 times that I've left disappointed, but through no fault of the band.
