Supervising an archaeological dig

What a wonderful day we have had visiting the north coast of the Ardnamurchan peninsula. The Universities of Manchester and Leicester held an open day to their Neolithic dig at Swordle. It was fascinating and the views were magnificent looking out to sea and the islands of Eigg, Rhum and Muck, as well as Skye. It was glorious.
The students gave us an interesting tour although we had to get up to a high promontory to do so. I haven't much of a head for heights and was a little out of my comfort zone, but it was well worth the climb. Hector loved it!
I learnt a lot. We then visited the burial site of a Viking by a pre-historic cairn by the bay, after which we visited the beach for a wee paddle.
