Alert!!

The little corgi pup on the front of this magazine made me (weakly) buy it this afternoon!
There are only 274 corgis left! Almost extinct!
I once stayed with an aunt near Bassenthwaite in Cumbria, and in addition to admiring the wonderful scenery I enjoyed getting to know her corgi. But he was a Cardigan corgi, with a long tail. I loved him!
Apparently corgis are now just out of fashion. In the 1960's there were almost 9,000 of them registered with the Kennel Club, but now they are on the vulnerable native breeds list.
There aren't any around here! It's all spaniels and Labradors (with the odd Golden Retriever of course!)
