Glasgow Street

Possibly this is how Glasgow looked in the 1920s. This is a reproduction in the Glasgow Transport Museum, The street includes the subway, a rather depressing looking cafe and a pub as well as several shops.

Strangely this was not the reason for the visit to the Museum today, rather we were visiting the Tall Ship, SV Glenlee. The ship is just over 100 years old, but was a working ship for almost 100 years. It has been subject to extensive refitting, though due to the changes made during the time the ship was working, could not be taken back to 1906 condition.

As well as a museum ship, it can also be used for functions, weddings etc. Another Glasgow attraction, which together with the adjacent Transport Museum is well worth a visit.
