Track and Ruin

This is just about all that remains of Berwick castle. Built in 12Century, it later fell to ruin, its final indignity being at the hands of the Victorians who tore down what was left to run the railway through. An unthinkable act today when we do all we can to preserve heritage. The 2 platforms & tracks now stand on what was the great hall.
