Well Dressed

Pooh and his friends are a modern twist to the age old Derbyshire tradition of Well Dressing. Each town has a different weekend through the summer for its well dressing. This weekend was the turn of Belper and many dressings appeared in the gardens next to the mill, which is my bird spotting patch. You can see the location in extras. The peregrines I follow nest on the mill.

Look up close and you will see the detailed work that many organisations and particularly schools put into their creations. Built in a wooden frame and covered in clay into which any natural material can be used to create the collage. Common items are seeds, flower petals, moss , leaves and stones. Take a close look at this picture an you can identify the materials.

Thanks for your best wishes yesterday, had a lovely meal interrupted by a few natural breaks to check how the Open was going. Lesley caught on after a while !!
