Schütza!!!!!

The Schützenfest began today. Well, the funfair opened yesterday, but the official drumming ceremony was today and we were there. About 12 drum or drum and pipe groups marched and played, and at the end everyone watching sang the Schützen song. I find it quite moving. Wonderful atmosphere. It marks the beginning of 9 days of festivities: parades, music, dancing, funfair, sitting outside in the market square until 11pm.
