Paris... Done...

Today we booked onto a bus trip to drop us off in Paris for the day.  We had a plan figured out of things we wanted to do but as is usual when kids are involved, it doesn’t always got to the agreed route.  Today’s plan did actually loosely follow the may thread of the plan but was amended and toned down to accommodate smaller legs who did remarkably well considering the heat and distance that was thrown at them.We went straight from the bus to hot foot it via the Metro over to Montmartre for a walking tour from the Moulin Rouge up to the Sacre Coere.  This was a tour done by a native Parisian.  Managed to catch him a couple of minutes before he started and it was so good.  He spent around an hour and half showing us round the big hits and small stories of this rather bohemian part of Paris. We did plan on a second walking tour but it was a bit much for the kids, so we just headed over to the Eiffel Tower, Louvre (massive queue to get in, my third attempt to actually go in and see it but failed again on account of the queue and heat to wait in that queue), planned to walk from there up the Champs Elleyse but had to throw in the towel after walking the initial garden section in searing heat.We headed back but realised that our eagerness away from the bus meant we didn’t actually check where it dropped us off, so it was a bit of street and landmark guess work to make it back. A rather interesting and exhausting day.

You could see a lot of people trying perspective shots of themselves holding the tip of the Louvre. Ewan just wanted to be an Egyptian in front of it.
