Auckland: Music Box

It's always been known as "The Music Box" in our family.  Dad got it out today - fitting as he created the box part, having inherited just the mechanics.  Works like a charm, no electricity required!

The internet is a wonderful thing, so I've found out about a number of late 19th-century music box manufacturers from Switzerland and Germany (Polyphon, Symphonion, Kalliope, Mira, Stella) and the United States (Regina, Olympia, Criterion).  

I wonder where our one came from?  Europe seems likely, looking at the metal 'records' which have their offerings in French and German.  
A waltz anyone?
