In a Swiss Meadow

In the sunshine for Flower Friday in Sonloup in the mountains above Montreux.
We took the train up to Les Avants and then a little very steep funicular up to the start of a variety of walks. Everywhere around here is very steep once you are away from the Lake.we walked along some of the "Chenin de narcissi" which must be absolutely fantastic early in the year. It's been very hot again today but we walked back down to the village finding these flowers on the way. We had planned another funicular from Territet up to Glion this afternoon but didn't get there. Instead we decided to have lunch out at a traditional restaurant. We had cheese, ham, bread, egg, tomato all done in a dish in the oven and it was very tasty! Won't need anything else today! After that we went off for a wander around the Vielle Ville which was pretty and a marked contrast to the Belle Époque part of town.

Meanwhile back at home my sister had a horrible day having bowel investigations at the hospital yesterday. On top of that Mom and Dad wanted to take her, they were nearly late so Dad went to park and then had a fall! A nurse had to go and find my sister to tell her he was in A and E! Mom panicked! They gave Dad a good check over including X-rays and ECG before allowing him home.... He's also had a mouth infection since Monday so has to have four teeth out next Monday before having new dentures fitted. At least those shouldn't fall out when he laughs! Did I need to know all this when on holiday? At one time it would have sent me into a panic but now I'm much more philosophical about it all. Fortunately my sister is stronger emotionally these days. I will attempt to be useful on Sunday Monday and Tuesday before we go off again.

Oh and by the way we've had some stupendous thunder this afternoon but no rain. Hope you are all ok in the UK.
