Guildford Cathedral.

Today I was working in Chichester for most of the day, then I had to visit a couple of sites in the Guildford area. When I realised how close I was to Guildford Cathedral I made a short detour for a few moment of peace. It is a modern cathedral, only completed in 1961 but is still quite impressive. As I arrived it was pouring with very heavy rain, it was quite strange in the quiet stillness of the cathedral to hear the rain pounding on the roof. The few minutes of calm was nevertheless very welcome. The onward journey was then very long as every road seemed to have a traffic jam!

This is the view looking towards the front and the extra is of an unusual but quite striking stand for the impressive flower arrangement.
