Phar Lap

Phar Lap - some history.

This afternoon our photography club ran a Mystery Rally.  We were given 15 clues to find and photograph as creatively as possible in the limited time we were given.  Most were within the city town limits except this one.

 He was born in the rural district of Seadown (where I grew up) and has the local racecourse named after him.  This is where I took this.  His story has been told in many ways, film, books, TV etc.  And, has such a tragic sad ending.

The rally was a huge success, a good turnout and everyone enjoyed the challenges set.  Hot work, so much so that most of us ended up in a bar enjoying some refreshments.  

The eye has improved a little, a way to go yet but at progress at last.
