suck it down!

yesterday i saw a heron and an ibis on the flooded field, so i nipped down there first thing this morning to see if they were there. the birds weren't, but i spotted a low white shape in the far distance. i switched lenses and crept up on it. imagine my disappointment when i found that i had photographed a large ball of string that the groundsmen use to mark lines.
the blip i ended up with is of the estate team preparing for another day's toil. they do an amazing job keeping the grounds in pukka nick. i was spotted shortly after taking this photo, which was a shame, as there could have been much better shots.
they had a laugh when i showed them the photo of the lesser spotted ball of string!
