Resting in the shade

Set off fairly early to Venice itself from the Lido and walked pretty much non stop (apart from pauses for an iced coffee and later an aperol soda) all day, exploring the lanes, bridges, campos, canals and the many exhibitions for the biennale that were scattered around town. The best bits of those were getting to see inside some amazing palazzos with their highly decorated ceilings, murano glass chandeliers and beautiful water-level doors (see extra).
Saw several rather leaning towers like the one here, and many gondoliers plying their trade or, like these two, taking their ease.
Back to the hotel for some prosecco and crisps before a stroll along for pizza and salad. Good day, and nearly 22,000 steps!
