DALTON AIRFIELD

RAF Dalton was an airfield used by RAF Bomber Command during the Second World War. It was a satellite or sub-station of nearby RAF Topcliffe and actually nearer to the village of Topcliffe than the station so named. By August 1945 all units at Dalton were disbanded or transferred.
I had decided what photograph I wanted to take today and seemed to have ended up with TOO MANY CHOICES so my favourite three are hear and the others on the link. Suffered for my art today as there was a intense shower as we left Northallerton & by the time we got to Dalton, although it had stopped, it had sodden the crops somewhat and I was soaked up to the crotch by the time I got back to the car, no its wasn't the damp I suffered but the nagging of the good lady all the way home for being so stupid for walking through it!
