The Cathedral Church of St Mary in Edinburgh

I always associate gargoyles with medieval architecture but am clearly wrong as St Mary's was a late victorian period church.

The rather ugly gargoyle is on the central tower and the next time I am near in the rain I intend to see whether it still works.
