Les journées colimaçon : inauguration

So spoilt for choice today! The morning was spent doing the circuit of the village with a barrowful of rocks (a virtual prize for anyone spotting the literary reference) and red and purple lirette in order to make the Ariadne's thread leading people round the trail. We took advantage of the occasion to collect three rubbish bags full of leaves, cigarette butts, and doggy deposits.

At lunchtime we all assembled for a quick sandwich or two before carrying on with the preparations. By the official opening time at 5 pm, all was in place; no speeches but a short rendition of Coupo Santo and a brief introduction by Pamphyle before the artists led a group of about 70 people round the artworks. The trail ends in the chateau with a minotaur of course (blip) -- lots of people in the village were quite excited by this as they'd never seen inside. The old motorbikes attracted as much interest as the artworks -- lots of people had an opinion on their restoration.

After that, a few well-earned glasses of wine and an inadequate amount of grilled sausages and bread before the evening's film -- which I skipped, having seen it before, using the time to review a couple of hundred photos instead. And finally, at midnight, a pot d'amitié to end a wonderful day.

More tomorrow! And an expanded Flickr album for now.
