Peaty Water

Back at the lovely Whixall Moss today tidying up some stuff from a few months ago. It was very different from when we were last there in March, now it is full of the haunting cries of Curlews, the sound of many cuckoos and the peeping of hundreds of Meadow Pippets quite likely to be eaten by the aforementioned cuckoos.

We however were more interested in the ditches and this is the surplus peaty water that sloshed over the edge of a ditch in recent wetter times and has now decided to just sit still in its inky blackness, I like the extra contrast and reflectivity the black and white gives!
