Cathkin Marshes

Sometimes a visit to the Scottish Wildlife Trust's Cathkin Marshes is disappointing and you can sit for ages and see nothing but today I was lucky to spot a solitary heron.  Herons are usually very obliging ... they stand motionless in one spot for ages allowing time for the photographer to focus the camera then there is a flap of wings and the magnificent bird takes to the sky.
