Thistle do.

I went down to our local Recreation Ground before the rain set in. We are doing a survey for the City Ecology Unit as the area has been designated part of the Urban Nature Project. We should survey plants, birds and butterflies. I thought I might focus on butterflies, but in the event, I didn't trouble the scorer. I decided to concentrate on casing the joint; took a few photos  and drew up a plan for future visits, making a note of things I did see. A few birds, the odd gall, lichen on a wooden bench, a nettle rust, and this hoverfly on a thistle.
