A moody West Mill Tor

A 10 mile walk on Dartmoor taking in 4 tors was the planned walking trip today.  It was a small number of people that turned up on this very wet windy day.  It was an enjoyable day though despite the driving rain when we set off.  There were glimpses of the surrounding views and the sun peaked out for brief moments.  Interesting times as we crossed small streams and wet boggy patches.

A good varied walk climbing up to Rowtor,  onto West Mill Tor where this photo was taken, then up to Yes Tor at 619m where it was blowing a gale before ascending to High Willhays at 621m the highest point in Southern England.  It was then mainly down hill and back along the raging East Okemount River.

Quite enjoyable, one of those days when you really experience the weather which fortunately was variable.
