Mongolian horse racing

Today we drove into the Gobi desert, to overnight at a Ger camp close to the ruins of the Ongi Monastery. On route, we were lucky enough to be able to stop and watch a horse race in the desert. The jockeys were all under 12 years old, and before the race started, they had to ride their horses 8 Km across the Desert from the finish line. Then it was a straight race back the 8Km in a straight line. Great to watch and exciting to photograph.
