Jurassic Turkeys

This flock of four wild turkeys were in a field near Aurora. (I cropped one out because it was mooning the camera.) This species has made a comeback in the past decade so they are wonderful to see. Linda also has a shot from this series.

I call them Jurassic Turkeys in the same fashion I call a flock of Canada geese: Jurassic Geese. It's a bit of a nod to the Jurassic Park/World movies (even though those dinos are not from the Jurassic Period). Regardless, flocks like these bring to mind what it must have looked like if we could have seen a flock of long-necked dinosaurs on a distant plain 150 million years ago.
