A room with a view

We had some rough sea during the trip from Aalesund to Kristiansand, 
so called "old sea".

Old sea is waves that have been created far away and have travelled a long way independent of the local wind. Old sea means a messy sea with waves from all directions and makes it difficult to sail in. 

This is the view from my berth and the closest I can come to the beautiful waves. 


There may be more dønningsystem from different directions and give messy seas. It is a combination of wind waves and swell constitutes a significant wave height.
