More Than One Carlsberg

A bit of history....

When Mr Jacobsen decided to brew a better beer, he moved the brewery here, then called his beer after his son and the mountain (hillock) that the  new brewery was built on - Carls Berg. After Carl went out in the world he came back full of newfangled ideas about beer. Captain Jacobsen did not approve, and so began a feud of stupid proportions that lasted until a few months before the dad's death. Carl set up a much cooler (artistic) factory, right next to his dad's, it was also a lot more efficient (poorer quality according to his father). They became "new" Carlsberg and "old" Carlsberg. Both have huge merits for what they achieved and did in their lifetimes; the Captain made all of his "secrets" available to everyone (the Unix of the beer world) while Carl created and left a legacy of supporting the arts that would shame todays greatest philanthropists and is still a founding block of the company to this day (.......he says hopefully).

Product shots are tricky, much greater respect for them today.
