One of the stranger interior design trends to escape from an episode of Nathan Barley is the current trend for coffee houses to look like the builders have abandoned the project half way through. 

I wouldn't care so much if I didn't feel that somewhere, there is a Snakeoilsalesperson of an interior designer getting very rich off this, charging people a fortune to make their premises look like a building site.
