Early evening stroll....

Very pleasant walk along the coast and then you come across a WWII defence shelter looking out to sea!  This will be at least 70 years old now - looks better with the graffiti on it and the palm tree growing alongside doesn't it?  My dad sailed along this coast in the Royal Navy during WWII escorting food and ammunition convoys up and down the Med and even saw some action in Greece but nothing from Spain (which was supposed to be neutral so what is this doing here?).  He used to tell me that when sailing at night and he was on lookout, everywhere was pitch black apart from the coast of Spain which was always lit up very brightly! If he had been around today I am sure he would have liked to have joined me in a caña at a beach chiringuito and watch the setting sun around 9.00pm listening to the music of Dire Straits! (Well maybe not listening to the music of Dire Straits - definitely the beer though!)
