An Artist's Life

Shhhhhh......

We all take our work verrrry seriously around here....especially men with chain saws.
There used to be 32 log home companies in the Bitterroot. Now there are 18 or 19. The dead-standing timber provides enough timber for thousands of hand-made log homes from cabin size to over 30,000 sq. feet log palaces. The homes are constructed and assembled here; then the logs are numbered, disassembled and shipped off to all points, including Japan, all of Europe and China where crews re-assemble the homes on foundations according to the plans. Sort of like Lincoln Log sets we had when we were kids. Some of the large homes here are stupendous...with 18" hand-peeled round logs and several floors....gyms, home theaters, wine cellars, etc. I'll blip some major construction one day.
Meanwhile, I'm off to a multi-family gathering and a sculpture delivery in Billings and must load the vehicle. Ciao, blippers!
