Chainsaw carving

The man on the right is Dennis Beach, a local who has competed internationally (here).  He makes carvings at fairs across the state and then on the last day of the fair, all the carvings are auctioned. It's fascinating to watch him create these "sculptures " in less than an hour. Mr M and I watched him tonight at the Troy Fair.

I spent a good part of the afternoon sitting in a room waiting for some routine maintenance to be done on our truck. Going to the fair was a welcome reward.
