Photography - A Victorian Sensation

This exhibition is currently showing at the National Museum of Scotland. It traces the history of photography from the earliest use of the Camera Obscura through to the present day but focuses mainly on the great Victorian pioneers of the art, like Daguerre, Fox Talbot, Hill and Adamson.
The scientific aspects of photography are gone into in some detail, but it is the end products which are fascinating as are the ways Victorians particularly used photography to record events and family life.
Ironically there is no photography permitted other than at designated points so here is yours truly - blipped for the first and probably the last time - at the Great Exhibition of 18 something or other!
