Cupola atop the building that currently houses Le Mercury Deuxieme on Upper Street, Islington - the excellent French restaurant where I went for a celebratory meal with my fellow newly qualified Clerkenwell & Islington Guides after being presented with our badges by the Mayor at the Town Hall this evening.
The current building probably does date from the late C19 so I'm assuming, from the dates shown, that it replaced an earlier C17 building. Need to consult Pevsner...
