Great Crested Grebes

After a visit to the dentist this morning (my personal hate), we went to Kinghorn Loch in Fife. Lots of Grebes and coots on the loch with goldfinches in the trees on the banks. This young Great Crested Grebe was noisily demanding food.
We also saw little grebes (including chicks) and LOTS of coots, mallards, swans etc.
A short drive to Kinghorn itself was very rewarding with great views of lots of seabirds, including gannets, kittiwakes and sandwich terns. Extra for today is one of the gannets - not great quality, but I was pleased to have captured it some way offshore in flight. Very satisfying, but with room for improvement!
