Strange Brew

Cobalt and ochre,
An alternative altar,
To strange deity.


Met with longstanding friends today for a pub lunch. We have known each other for well over 20 years and have been through births marriages and deaths  together .... anyway, we meet every month or so for a catch up. 

We met in a rather  posh village to go to one of the pubs there.  However got held up getting through the village by  lots of people in posh frocks and big hats going to a wedding in the church, or rather making hasty exits from the pubs to get to the church on time....

The place we were going to go to has become trendy and  taken over by wealthy DFL types ("Down From London" - apologies to London blippers I know none of you are part of this tribe!).  So we decamped to the pub next door which was much nicer and friendlier and a very nice lunch was had.

As we were leaving I noticed this on the wall .... had to just grab a quick snap without a chance to inspect it properly ... how intriguing .. would love to know it's history ... may have to return ...
