Barque

This Barque, called Kaskelot, was moored of of Cowes today, it is here for the whole week. It is a famous ship and has been in numerous movies. This is from a local news website (Island Echo):-  "The three-masted barque Kaskelot, a celebrated star of numerous films, is heading to Cowes from 1st-9th August and is set to berth at Trinity Landing.
Those visiting the area will have an opportunity to step aboard this world-class sailing ship when it visits and journey out for half a day of spectacular sailing. With all ages welcome on board, this is the perfect family activity for a sunny day on the Solent.
Visitors can join Kaskelot on a day sail between 13:30-17:00, with a chance for those on board to explore the historical wooden decks and extensive cargo hold, and gain a magical insight into life aboard this historic vessel, widely acknowledged as one of the finest wooden hulled tall ships still sailing our oceans today.
Kaskelot was originally built in Denmark in 1948 by renowned shipyard J Ring Anderson at Svenborg to carry supplies to remote coastal settlements in East Greenland. During the 1960s, Kaskelot worked as a support vessel for Danish fisheries in the Faroe Islands.
After being extensively refitted in 2013 to a very high standard, the classic tall ship is now a magnificent example of a blue water sailing vessel. It has featured in many Hollywood films and TV dramas over the years, including Cutthroat Island, A Respectable Trade, David Copperfield, Longitude and Amazing Grace.
Following on from Kaskelot’s visit to Cowes, she then continues her summer tour through Europe, where she is set to visit France and the Nordics before returning back to the UK to her home in Bristol for the winter".
Although it mentions trips on her, I never saw any of these advertised today.
