We woke up to patches of blue in the sky - glorious!

Decided to head down to Fionnphort to figure out which Island to hop across to today - if the tide was right we’d walk over to Erraid, if not we’d get the ferry across to Iona. The tide had been down an hour or so already so we decided not to risk it and to go to Iona. Caught the ferry, along with a whole bus load of Americans who’s overheard conversations provided perfect onboard entertainment (sadly no 10NAs today though).

Iona is, of course, stunning. We wondered up to the Abbey and the home of the Iona Community but didn’t spend too much time there as it was, inevitably, pretty busy. Instead we walked over to the other side of the island where we were greeted with several white-sanded coves with beautiful turquoise sea. We abandoned our shoes and socks and went for a paddle, explored some rock pools and sakalasafari picked some more shells. It’s just glorious to feel the sand under, and the tide lapping over your feet. We picnicked, oooooohed, aaaaaahed, found another cove (above), had another paddle then meandered back.

All in all, a day of wondering around on beautiful beaches. More of the same tomorrow please.
