Learning day by day

Angers

We spent the day in Angers, predominantly in the castle. It was very impressive and amazingly green inside. Under 18's were free which made it even better. The audio guide was ok but personally I would have liked more about the people who lived in the castle rather than the structure of it. Also the audio guide for the kids was identical to the adult one, so although they listened intently and it kept them amused, I don't think they gained much from it.

We had lunch in a cafe in a square near one of many churches, then a little wander through some narrow shopping streets.

We also visited a bigger Decathlon with the express intent of getting me some cycling glasses. We were more than successful judging by the baskets contents at checkout and Will went halves with us (using some of his holiday money) to buy himself some 'cycling' glasses. I have to admit he looks very cool and slightly too grown up in them.

Everyone went swimming when we got back. It was still lovely and warm to sit outside in shorts and t-shirt 'til past 8.30pm.
