Visiting Humans at Monkey World

Dorset: Day 1
We had a nice surprise at Dad's last night as my brother and his family stopped in for the night on their way home from their holiday in Spain.

After a leisurely breakfast we headed off on our 2.5 hour journey...4.5 hours later we got there! We spent the afternoon at Monkey World in Dorset as Sushi, with his love of all things animal, has been avidly watching the show on TV following the antics and the everyday at the park.

Monkey World is a rescue centre for various monkeys from all over the world and their most recent success was to rescue 84 capuchin monkeys from a medical research lab in Chile where they had been kept in small cages with no social or physical contact with any other monkeys, they now live in open enclosures in 4 distinct troops and are enjoying a happy 'retirement'.

I did love the total disdain with which captive monkeys tend to treat the visiting humans that stare at them through the glass...
