Urban Farm

We celebrated Rosie's 14th birthday with the family around for lunch today (Rosie's actual birthday was last Friday but this was the first day with us). A beautiful sunny day and the girls had fun with their cousin whilst the adults caught up.

In the afternoon Annie and I went to do our "shift" at the urban farm at the school where Annie had been chair of governors until recently. Our job was to shut up safely for the night, to make sure the animals were protected from foxes etc. At the farm there are chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs (their term time role is to help the pupils at the school get a qualification in small animal care). We love animals so it was great fun and not as difficult as we feared it might be to get everyone away in their house or hutch for the night.

Not sure if this is the same ladybird as yesterday's extra photo but I tried a 50mm extension tube on the 100mm macro lens to get a bit closer, still had to crop a bit to get this view.
