Tortoiseshell butterfly

Today's weather has been glorious ! Bright sun , scudding clouds and wind. Neil and I took advantage of of it and went out this afternoon to the nearby woodland. On the far side of it there is a large field with meadowland round it where we've found most of our butterflies this year. This beautiful tortoiseshell was determined to pose for us :) we also found ladybirds , several whites , a very elderly Red Admiral butterfly and saw 2 deer and a hare. All in all a lovely wander.
