Waverley

Last summer, the Dunscore Birdwatching Group arranged to visit Ailsa Craig on the Waverley, but the trip was cancelled because of bad weather. We booked again this year, and reached Ayr yesterday only to be told that the same thing had happened. This time, however, we were offered an alternative sailing, up Loch Striven from Largs. Most of us didn't even know where Loch Striven was, but having come this far, we decided to find out.
I'm glad we did, because not only did we have a great sail up past the Isle of Bute under glorious blue skies, but also the chance to enjoy Largs, home of Nardini's ice cream.
All's well that ends well..
