Diagnostic...

Here's a good reason to go to a local garage rather than getting the car fixed at the official dealership.

Phone the call centre. Explain the car is sometimes not turning over. Garage tells you that it'll need to go on a diagnostic check which weighs in at just over £100 alone.

Take car to garage. Re-explain the issues needing looked at to front desk and give additional information weaned from the AA man last night that the car turning over is the starter motor.

Receive phone call from mechanics later in the morning asking for more information whilst thinking to oneself, "Should the diagnostic not tell you this."

Phone garage later in the afternoon to find that because the car turned on flawlessly for them everytime, they couldn't look at it as they couldn't test for it inspite of me telling them exactly where to look and what was happening.

We are reduced to using the AA man's advice to nudging the starter motor into action if the car isn't turning over.

I think I'll maybe just try fixing it myself.
