Young Obama Fan

Today was very emotional for me. Somehow the events leading up to Obama's election made me remember things I'd forgotten for a long time. I'm so incredibly happy he won, and feel that his election was almost a referendum on what the United States should be -- and the referendum broke the way I almost dared not to even hope for.

It makes me very happy to think that my young friend may grow up in a country where an African-American President doesn't seem extraordinary in any way at all. What a long, long way we've come since I was a child!!!
