FIRE AND WATER

After the fiery turmoil, now it's the turn of the waters. The elements are playing their free hands. Floods in the plains and landslides in the hills are the menu at present. Dozens of bridges and one dam suffered the wrath of the torrential rapids of the wild rivers emanating from the incessant rains during the past weeks. Apart from a couple of villagers succumbing to the torrents of the flash floods in the valley, one whole village named Joumol in the Khengjoi hills area adjoining Myanmar was swept away  along with about 20 of its villagers in a devastating landslide burying the whole lot overnight.
