Puss in boat

Only in Amsterdam?
De Poezenboot is a floating cat shelter. From the outside it looks like just another houseboat but inside visitors find a feline world occupied by both permanent and passing residents, under the supervision of the Cat Crew who take care of strays and unwanted pets in this unusual sanctuary. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the residents  or chose from those who are waiting for adoption. The boat is equipped with a panoply of catty equipment: beds, perches, scratching posts, toys and an ingenious feeder which aims to develop dexterity and cognition in housebound moggies (see extra pics).

In the collage, top centre: visitor meets residents; left and right: treat time; top left: cats inspect canal and catnip bed; top right: all the cats that live here have names. This one might be Houdini (if he's still here); bottom centre: rescue attempt! The notice says Don't touch me I might scratch.
