Flicker Fluke

Wow, a flicker in my own backyard...I'm blown away:)) I walked outside with my glass of wine and camera, remarking to Bob that I NEED a blip for today, and was gazing at the pond...nothing interesting...hmm.

Then I noticed a mama mallard with a couple children...and I talked to her hoping she would stay for a shot, but off they all waddled :((

So I ventured toward the pond and out of the corner of my eye flies a bird to the tree off to my left.....whoa, what is that? A flicker? ...whoa, I have never seen a flicker in my backyard!! I know...this is probably a "so so" shot, a common flicker doing nothing....but exciting to me:)))
