U3A walk Faversham to Whitstable

Today we all hopped on the train and went south into Kent. We got off at Faversham, a nice little town with the countrys oldest brewery, Shepherd Neame, and walked across the salt marshes and on to Whitstable where we stopped for lunch at The Old Neptune, a pub that is right on the cobble beach and has apparently been washed away several times. A glass of lovely Kent cider washed the meal down very well indeed.
The photo shows the very flat landscape around here looking out towards the Swale National Reserve.
