Helenium 'Ruby Charm ' detail

The centre of this striking flower reminds me of the the surface of the Sun! There were lots of little bees feeding on these (as in the extra picture). It was interesting to see that as the flower matured the petals lost their colour. The bees seem to prefer the newer stamens.
