12-spot Burnet Moth!

These two Six-spot Burnets were inseperable on their Knapweed flower this afternoon. I don't remember seeing so many Six-spots at the nature reserve, more this year than the normally numerous Narrow-bordered Five-spot Burnet. I was really meant to be checking for Chalkhill Blue butterflies, which are gradually recolonising the valley - thrilled to find six males in very windy conditions, but no females to be seen today.
