Sea Holly

Sea Holly grows in abundance in the sand dunes here.

Often bits of it break off after the winds.

I found this piece last night on an evening walk and brought it back to the caravan between my finger and thumb as it's very prickly!

It still looked as good this morning.

The centres gradually turn purple but the leaves stay ghostly grey and I love the almost skeletal feel of the veined leaves.

Thank you Anni for hosting the Flower Friday challenge
